WORLD MISSIONS NEXT DOOR
T. Pierce Brown
Although the ONE NATION UNDER GOD program was begun with a vision of getting the gospel to every person in the world, starting with mailing it out to 102,000,000 in theUSA, we realize that the same type of approach of direct mail may not be best for every nation. It was used inCanada, modified somewhat in theCaribbean, and may be modified in other ways in future phases of the program. We welcome comments from those who have better ideas of how to accomplish our primary goal, which is still to carry out the Great Commission of our Lord.
For example, there are said to be 400,000 international students atU.S.colleges and universities from 180 nations around the world. If you live near a college or university and are interested in trying to reach these bright international students who will be future leaders of their own countries, let us know of your interest and involvement and we will try to assist.
Many of these students would be open to Christianity, especially if they were invited into a home of an American friend and invited to share ideas and exchange cultural information. While we should continue to be primarily interested in getting the gospel into every nation where it has not yet been heard, it might be that these students could provide the nucleus for doing so. If you know of such students, and especially if you have had any experiences with such that would help us to accomplish our primary goals, please call us in order that we might capitalize on every opportunity we have.
If you are involved in a jail ministry, and we can assist with what we have or have experienced, let us know. The ONE NATION UNDER GOD correspondence courses are being used in about 9 state in various prisons, and dozens of baptisms have resulted from it so far. Whatever success or failure you have experienced in the jail ministry needs to be shared with others, so if you will send whatever information you have to me or the ONE NATION UNDER GOD office, we will try to use it for the glory of God. It is sometimes said that we are usually a day late and a dollar short for most of our efforts, and it may be so, but it need not be if you will DO WHAT YOU CAN, WHERE YOU ARE, WITH WHAT YOU HAVE for the glory of God and for the good of your fellowman.
